Promoting Solar Power as Future

Organizations supporting solar power use for homes will hold a self-guided tour of solar-powered homes and businesses in the Knoxville area on 4th October 2008.
Sustainable Future LLC, Southern Alliance for Clean Energy and the American Solar Energy Society are hosting 13th Annual ASES National Solar Tour, aims at 5,000 homes, schools and businesses across the United States to promote Solar Power as future.

Nine areas of Knoxville will benefit. The areas include:
Ijams Nature Center,
2915 Island Home Ave. the Mellow Mushroom restaurant,
2109 Cumberland Ave.,
Don and Jo Huisingh’s home,
2232 Delta Way; Greg and Susan Baker’s home,
2048 Cherokee Blvd.;
Jim Deropp’s home,
4126 Maloney Road;
Dr. Preston Smith’s home,
7011 Lawford Road;
Narrow Ridge Center,
1936 Liberty Hill Road,Washburn;
Oak Ridge National Laboratory-Habitat for Humanity Energy Efficient Designed homes,
Bethel Drive, Lenoir City
David Bolt’s home, 2315 Sugar Grove Valley Road, Harriman.
The tour is meant to introduce visitors to solar technologies.
